Misconceptions and Simple Truths in Dressage

Van Schaik was a silver medallist as part of the Dutch showjumping team in the 1936 Olympics, but became interested in dressage and having settled in the States after the war, not only ran his own academy but became involved in competition as a judge and trainer.

His book is scholarly, but very readable and offers interesting insights into the giants of the 20th century, including Reiner Klimke. Kurt Albrecht wrote the foreword.
