Dr Med. Vet. Erwin Westernayer.
Hardback, second hand, illustrations & photos.
Acupuncture has enjoyed increasing publicity in lay medical and scientific journals ever since the Health Science Press published in 1959 the first book ever to appear in English on Chinese Acupuncture.
For the first few years the Press generally tended to give Acupuncture scant, facetious or derogatory 'write-ups. Gradually, however, Acupuncture was taken seriously as a valid therapy and today there is no doubt at all concerning the respectability, validity and efficacy of Acupuncture in the treatment of human beings.
We have not been able to locate a Veterinary Acupuncture Association in the British Isles; and, as far as we know, no books or articles have been published until 1977 when, on 6th May, the only article on Veterinary Acupuncture published by a respons-ible and authoritative journal appeared in Chemical Age International.
We are grateful for the opportunity of being associated (as translators) with this pioneering work by Dr Wester-meyer, the first book to be published in Great Britain on Veterinary Acupuncture.
Veterinary practitioners who seri-ously wish to know more about Acupuncture should write to the British Acupuncture Association, 21 Cank Street, Leicester. For information on Veterinary Acupuncture Needles write to Inter-Medics Ltd., 52 Walsworth Road, Hitchin, Herts.
