The Art of Lungeing

Sylvia Stanier was a well-known trainer who worked with Einar Schmit-Jensen and Nuno Oliveira.  She is perhaps best known as the trainer of Queen Elizabeth II's horse, Burma.

This popular book has become a standard work since it was first published in 1976.  Now revised and extended, with additional photographs and diagrams.  Advice is given on handling foals and youngstock, on equipment and how to fit it, on how to conduct first lessons and on how to deal with faults and problems.  The benefits and purposes of lungeing are fully explained, as is work at all gaits and over poles.
