Manuel Jorge Martins de Oliveira, born in 1959 in Azambuja, Portugal, lets us delve into his world of two and a half years (Winter 1986 - 1989) spent with Mestre Nuno Oliveira (1925-1989).  In his youth, Nuno Oliveira was taught by Maître Miranda. Maître Miranda was a pupil of Francois Baucher (1796-1873).  Nuno Oliveira opened the door to François Baucher's teachings (which are much maligned in Germanyl to Manuel Jorge deOliveira.

For Manuel Jorge de Oliveira, at that time an instinctive, gifted, self-taught and celebrated bullfighter and not a riding theorist, Baucher's ideas became his greatest inspiration for working with his horses.
