In Practice was started in 1979 as a clinical supplement to The Vetermary Revard, lis carefully chosen, highly illustrated artides specially commissioned from leaders in their field wore aimed specifically at the practitiones. They have proved estremely popular with expemenced veherinzcians and students alike. The editorial board, chaired for the first 10 years by Professur James Armour, was particularly concerned to emphasize differential diagnosis.

In response to consistent demand, articles from in Practice, updated and revised by the authors, are now published in convenient handbook form. Each book deals with a particular species or group of related animals.
