The Panel | September 2026
Radio New Zealand featured Mangaiti Equine Books on The Panel, New Zealand’s flagship afternoon discussion programme. And yep, it's true - we really do stock everything Jilly Cooper ever wrote!

“A Success Story in Waimakariri” | September 2026
Newsroom published an article Róisín Magee wrote explaining how Mangaiti Equine came in to existence and how, as an independent New Zealand bookseller, we have built a global customer base.
"I had learnt to ride as an adult in the UK so that I could compete in the Mongol Derby (the world’s longest horse race) but after moving to New Zealand with my Kiwi husband and young family, where I had my own horse for the first time, I found myself a long way away from knowledgeable friends to help me out. It was equally hard picking through online information, and importing books piecemeal to New Zealand was eye-wateringly expensive."

“Shed-Based Bookshop Goes Global” | 2026

The Press (Christchurch) wrote about how a shed-based bookshop has gone global with more than 1,000 equestrian titles.
"While some independent bookshops face an increasingly tough environment, a specialist North Canterbury equestrian bookseller operating from a shed has bucked the trend — growing from about 50 titles to more than 1000 and finding customers around the world."
